Board Member
Mariam Lawino has a Degree and Masters in Architecture with over 20 years of experience. She is the Vice-Chairperson of the Architects Registration Board and heads the Education Committee of the Board.
Throughout her career, she has had the privilege to design, review designs and supervise structures or buildings of different functions, like Currency centers, disaster recovery centers, churches, Courthouses, health centers and hospitals, schools, technical institutes, and universities.
She has been working in the Ministry of Education and Sports on different projects as a Project Manager since
2011. She is currently the Project Technical Manager – Architect under the IsDB (Islamic Development Bank), OFID (Opec Fund for International Development), and Arab Funded Projects, Project Coordination Unit of The Ministry of Education and Sports. The project aims at improving skills training in the Technical Institutes in order to produce learners who would compete in the world of work through improved skills training.
Prior to that, she was the Project Coordinator for the Higher Education Science and Technology (HEST) Project of the Ministry of Education and Sports, funded by the African Development Bank which saw the expansion and equipping of the Science and Technology departments in nine public universities, with the aim of having improved quality and relevance of Higher Education Science and Technology in the benefitting public universities.
